Hi there! Welcome to the very first edition of the Miranj newsletter. We are taking the liberty of sending you this email because we’ve either worked with you, are friends with you, or both. :)

So why a newsletter? We love getting updates and reading about what our peers and the industry has been up to (some of our favourite updates are from Panic, Opposite, March, Craig Mod, Ugmonk), but we have been really bad at keeping in touch. We hope this fixes our radio silence.
A lot has been happening at Miranj since the last time we spoke, but since this is the very first edition, we’ll keep it short.
- 🎂 We just turned 9. Yay! 🎉 (Throwback to us surviving our first year.)
- 🎓 We re-built the Azim Premji University’s website. It took up most of last year, and it’ll go live as soon as the content is uploaded. We can’t wait!
- 🗺 We’re going global. We worked with clients and collaborators from 6 different countries last year — India, USA, Qatar, Myanmar, Singapore and Cambodia!
- 🗣 Prateek gave a talk on web performance at Dot All 2019 in Montréal, Canada. It was packed with information on caching (infamously one of the two difficult problems in computer science) as well as sample code for making your own Craft CMS sites super fast. Check out the Fortifying Craft for High Traffic slides, the talk video, and the code. (🇨🇦 Canada wasn’t too bad either. 😉)
- 🗣 We were invited to present at DesignxDesign Exposé 41 in November 2019 at Alliance Française de Delhi. We used the opportunity to share our philosophy, talk about how the web is more than just a visual medium and show some of our work. Check out the slides or the recorded talk video.
- 📅 We have been organising and supporting the New Delhi edition of World Information Architecture Day for three years now. 2020 just wrapped up a day back (22nd Feb), but here’s a recap of 2019.
- 💼 We are now vetted technology partners for Craft CMS (our preferred CMS) as well as Digital Ocean (our preferred web host) with closer access to both their teams.
- 🕴 We now offer strategy workshops as a stand-alone service. We started conducting hands-on project discovery sessions with clients at the start of our projects in 2016. These have been tremendously helpful in acquiring a deep understanding of client needs. It has also helped our clients take better strategic decisions for their website and overall business. Just last year we conducted four such workshops.
- 👨👨👦 Finally, we’ve grown! Let’s be honest—we suck at growing our team. It took us 8 years and a few hits and misses to find the right fit. But now that we have, please meet Archit Chandra who has joined our team as a web developer. Before Miranj, Archit ran an independent shop called GreyThink Labs and worked on numerous company websites and online news publications.
Look at that — 9 updates on our 9th birthday. 😬
